CLASS STRUCTURE.
Our Adults Class offers a structured curriculum that works for complete beginners and experienced grapplers alike. Multiple skill levels are available, and classes run six days a week right here in Richmond, TX. Whether you’re starting from scratch or refining technique you’ve built over years, there’s a place for you on our mat.
Our No-Gi program offers a different dimension of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu — different grips, different leverage, the same problem-solving intensity. No-gi has grown rapidly in popularity for both competition and fitness, and it makes an excellent complement to gi training. Many of our members train both. No experience required to start either class.
All skill levels are welcome! We draw members from across Richmond, Fort Bend County, and the greater Katy and Sugar Land area. Your first class is always free.

WHO TRAINS AT THE GROVE
You’ve never trained. You’re curious about self-defense or getting fit in a way that doesn’t feel like a treadmill. Our coaches have worked with hundreds of first-timers across all ages and backgrounds. You’ll be welcomed, challenged appropriately, and never made to feel behind. The mat is a level playing field for everyone who walks in the door.
BJJ combines cardio, strength, and mental challenge in a way no gym class can replicate. A typical class burns significant calories while requiring real problem-solving under pressure. You can’t zone out — the mat demands your full attention. Most members report that BJJ is the first workout they’ve ever genuinely looked forward to, class after class.
We offer competition preparation and have coached athletes at IBJJF events. The Renzo Gracie lineage runs deep at The Grove. If you want to test yourself on the competitive circuit, we’ll prepare you properly — physically, technically, and mentally. And if you just want to get better, the competitive culture at the academy still elevates your game every single class.
